Step into a dazzling world of light, colour, and reflection with Pixel Tube. Rolls of reflective Mylar bundled inside a tube create a mesmerizing pixelated view of the world around you. Explore how light behaves, discover colour mixing from different light sources, and experience the science of reflection in a creative and playful way.
This installation was created by students involved in the STEAMS School programme delivered by Ministry of Inspiration, a charitable trust dedicated to bringing STEAMS education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths, and Society) to tamariki across Aotearoa. Developed through a term-long exploration of colour, shadow, and reflection, Pixel Tube showcases the creativity, curiosity, and innovation of students from across Te Tauihu. Come have a play, make your own tube to explore other exhibits. Teacher: Amy Cornelisen
