Shadow Licker is a playful and slightly unsettling interactive window display by Rueben Derrick. As passersby walk past the Rutherford Mews shop window, their shadows are captured and manipulated in real-time — stretched, duplicated, and animated in unexpected ways. The work plays with our relationship to our own silhouette, turning the mundane act of walking past a shop into a surreal encounter.
Rueben Derrick is a Nelson-based digital artist known for interactive installations that playfully subvert everyday experiences through technology and light.
